On Sunday, September 29, I brought my Devanagari transliteration of RajaSimha Pallava's grantham inscription on the wall of the Kailsanatha temple, to Sri Balasubramanian's sanskrit class. The class finished at 2, lunch at 3 and for the next few hours, he tried to fit the inscription to Samskrta chanda metres, and filled up missing letters with guesses. We got most of it except the last portion which is really damaged. Here is one such verse, with original grantha inscription and Devanagari captions. Incidentally there were a few spelling mistakes in the inscription :-) Here below is the sloka in Roman script.
